Most riders are a fit—but the details matter (mobility, arm/shoulder range, seating needs, terrain, and riding goals). That’s why we start with a Quick Fit Check: we’ll confirm which model makes sense, what adjustments you’ll want, and whether anything would limit comfort or performance.
If we don’t think it’s a fit, we’ll tell you.
How stable is it—can it tip?
Freedom Ryder handcycles are built for stability with a wide, three-wheel stance and a low center of gravity. Like any cycle, tipping is possible with aggressive cornering, steep side slopes, or uneven terrain—but for normal riding they feel planted and predictable. We’ll also recommend the best setup for your riding environment (roads, paths, trails, hills).
How does e-assist perform on hills, and what range should I expect?
E-assist is designed to help with hills, headwinds, and longer rides, especially when fatigue or terrain would normally limit you. Range depends on rider weight, incline, temperature, tire pressure, and how much assist you use—so we’ll help you set realistic expectations for your routes. If you tell us your typical terrain and distance in the Fit Check, we’ll recommend the right model/setup.
How do I transport it—will it fit in my vehicle?
Many riders transport their handcycle in an SUV, van, hatchback, or on a hitch rack—depending on the model and setup. The easiest way to confirm is with your vehicle type and a quick measurement. Submit the Fit Check and we’ll tell you the simplest transport method for your situation (and what to measure if needed).
What happens after I submit the Fit Check (lead time, shipping, warranty)?
After you submit the Fit Check, we’ll reach out to confirm fit and answer questions—then guide you through the next steps. You’ll get clear expectations on lead time and shipping, plus what’s covered under warranty and how support works long-term.
