Grant Funding Opportunities

Kelly Brush Foundation (KBF)

The Kelly Brush Foundation empowers people with spinal cord injuries to stay active by awarding grants that make adaptive sports and recreation possible. Whether someone is carving down a ski slope or cruising a bike path, KBF helps them feel the rush of movement, connect with others, and see their disability fade into the background.

Triumph Foundation

Serving children, adults, and veterans across Southern California, the Triumph Foundation inspires people with spinal cord injuries or disorders to keep pushing forward. From the first days after injury through every stage of life, Triumph provides equipment, resources, and a strong community network so each person can “triumph” over new challenges and live fully.

Challenged Athletes Foundation

CAF’s equipment-grant track can be used specifically to purchase an adaptive handcycle. In your application you list the Freedom Ryder model you want, and—if approved—CAF pays the vendor directly, wiping out most or all of the cost you would otherwise face. The same program also reimburses related training or race expenses, so you can get rolling and stay active without the financial roadblock.

High Fives

High Fives Foundation’s Empowerment Fund can provide grant funding for adaptive sports equipment, including handcycles. If approved, the grant can be used toward the Freedom Ryder model you choose, with funds paid directly to the vendor to reduce or cover the cost.
